How safe is safe?
Salam...while I'm eating lunch lavishly, my thoughts just wandering through my brain...how safe is safe enough? I cant denied that food is the caused of many health problem. Be it the food itself or the diet, both contribute to a lot of problem. Sometimes I just feel paranoid but at the same times I'm so hopeless. Im just not in control because how much option do I have.
What I'm trying to say, as the consumer, Im not sure how safe is the chicken that I buy. I do believe that some people are not being responsible and try to be creative and innovative to pump the chicken faster and cutting the cost. The hormone, the paracetamol and some other chemical which caused danger to human had been applied. Im not sure and I dont have the evidence but that is what I heard. Or maybe we shouldn't eat chicken, eat more fish.
The same question goes back how safe is safe? Recently, the farm fish like catfish (keli) claimed to be fed by the dumping of pig sewage in the fish fond. Here arise the question of halal and the definition of safe food is also a part of halal term. If the food is not halal, of course it is not safe. In fact the sewage-filled lagoons at the pig farm in Eastern Mexico are suspected of creating condition for swine flu.
Ok..maybe I should eat only sea fish but again and again....how safe is safe? The sea fish are exposed to mercury contamination. Mercury are very dangerous to us and can caused a lot of problem.
Im just being paranoid but what really matters, I hope producers will be more responsible to the product that they produced. The local agriculture produce should be monitored closely and also the imported food from abroad. The farm produced should be properly label with halal and also the name of the farm which supply the product.

Saya tak berapa suka makan ikan terutama ikan sungai.
Kalau nak kira apa yg kita makan sekarang, mmg banyak yg tak berapa selamat, tapi kita tak banyak pilihan huhuhu

We can never be too cautious about the food that we take. It's enough by determine that the food are from Halal source (either by cook, preparation and so on) and we leave the rest to Allah.

Yakin tu penting!

In the current hostile world, nothing is safe. There is no guarantee of what goes down into your body and its effect on us. It is totally a caveat emptor. We should be more self susntainable and reduce depandancy to the unknown third parties. Better still rear our own chicken and cook the dish ourselves.

Salam Arsaili (:-D),

I used to worry about the source of food that I'm putting in my system and more so when I have 4 children to feed. Most is whether what I feed them are HALAL in the real sense. A discussion with someone with religious knowledge on being sure whether a food is HALAL brought it down to : (i) the genuine HALAL certification from recognised body/bodies;
(ii) for fish (from the sea), as it is pronounced HALAL in Islam, there is no need for us to think of what it is eating down there;
(iii) serahkan diri in Allah's care - He knows that our knowledge is limited; baca doa sebelum makan dam minta ia dari sumber yang halal;
(iv) More importantly, makanan itu dibeli dgn duit dari punca yang halal;

I may have not answered everything and there may be others which I may have forgotten but I just would like to share what I have gathered on the subject. Hopefully it is useful(:-D)

don't worry bro, if you are paranoid, you won't be able to eat anything :) what you did is one of asas kepada keimanan, tegur melalui perbuatan, lisan (as you did) and serendah rendah nya melalui hati (doa). superb!

how safe is safe... if we worry about it too much, then we have less choices... the main thing is, as long as it is halal, i think i'm ok with it...

hi bro
i just remember in our recent workshop, one patient commented about taking food that may cause health problem. he blamed the seafood causing him to get leukemia that he consumed a few weeks before he was diagnosed. another patient disputed him that by giving a funny example saying if someone eat a banana and soon after that he got an accident, can we blame the pity banana? so, how do we say how safe is safe? the bottom line is take in moderate and balanced diet...say another.

so bro, coming to pediatic institute next week?

apapun dimakan sebaiknya bersederhana, seperlu je, kalau dah berlebihan mende yg baikpun akan memudharatkan tak gitu arsaili? tapi tang makanan yg tercemar tu tak dapatle kita perbuat apa-apa melainkan terus berhati-hati sebelum terkena. Ternyata dunia dan kehidupan kini dah semakin kurang kualiti keselamatnnya!
